History of ICF (Insulation Concrete Forms)
• 1951: BASF in Germany produced polystyrene rigid foam (Styrofoam).
• 1965: Concrete was poured in Austria by reinforcing Styrofoam with wood.
• 1975: Construction of the first ICF-applied house in Germany.
• 1980: The United States and Australia obtained the ICF basic license and implemented this technology for the first time.
• 1994: As a result of German unification, materials for 1,000 residential units were sold.
• 1999: “Passive House Quality Certificate” was issued in Germany for ICF walls.
• 2003: Switched to BASF’s new material “Neopor®-Neopol“.
• 2006: Certificate signed with SJ Tech, Korea
